Niloofar became Afghanistan’s first female fixed-wing pilot in 2012. As an Aircraft Commander Captain Rahmani flew countless missions as a direct support element to combat operations in Afghanistan. The US State Department presented Rahmani with the International Women of Courage Award in 2015. In 2021, Rahmani co-authored, “Open Skies: My Life as Afghanistan’s First Female Pilot.” Additionally, Rahmani is the proud co-owner and founder of the Afghanistan Tribal Rug Trading Company established in 2018.
